Hi there! I'm Susan. My parents raised me in West Lafayette, IN, and I happily hail for the Purdue Boilermakers and bleed black and gold. Just driving into the campus brings me great joy. I was a Zeta Tau Alpha and graduated from Purdue. I've worked in public relations and alumni publications for Purdue, Indiana University and Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College, and in corporate marketing in the hospitality industry. My love of writing encompasses 40 years and now focus on freelancing and book writing.
After I met my husband, Terry, on a blind date we quickly knew we were who God intended for each other. A year later I did something I never thought I would do...marry a farmer! I'm allergic to everything he does on the farm. But the Lord has a great sense of humor putting us together. I've survived major culture shock and now speak about my adventures and misadventures of being a farmer. After marrying Terry I was coached to write what I know. I knew Purdue and the Lafayette area, I knew Indianapolis, and...I knew farm life. My writing focus shifted from travel and high education themed stories to agriculture. I've written a humor and commentary column for Indiana Prairie Farmer magazine since 2006. Terry and I have two daughters. Lillian and her husband,Kegan, farm with us, and are the proud parents of three children who enjoy our Polled Hereford cattle as much as we do. Hayley lives and works in London in the design, tailoring and fabric industries, and enjoys travel every chance she gets. Terry's in a weekly men's Bible study group and I love serving on the Youth for Christ of the Wabash Valley board. |
